Awningsonline is a marketing division of Sun Boss Corporation. For more than a half a century Sun Boss corporation has been beautifying homes in Southern California with awnings (and also patio covers and sun rooms).In 1947, after the war, John Kain began to provide awnings for the booming housing market in Southern California. People loved the idea of not having to replace their awnings, and soon began requesting to cover their patios and doors. Soon after this Sun Boss created the first awnings that could be used as door hoods, and patio covers. The area was growing and so was Sun Boss, as time went on there became an obvious need to somehow enclose these patio areas with screens. It was about 1953 and Sun Boss first screen rooms were being installed, custom designed to tie into the existing cover.
As the years rolled by Sun Boss was constantly searching for the best in every product we designed. Sun Boss has never compromised on quality and never will. One of the nicest products that John Kain designed was the continuous rolled flat panel machine. This is a product that creates a free span patio cover that is smooth underneath.This product was designed by John Kain and the continuous roll-forming machine was built in our plant in 1965. With as many changes and upgrades over the past 58 years, this product remains unchanged and is still the most popular of all our patio covers. This product is fabricated locally and shipped nationwide. Sun Boss still owns the only totally smooth 6" flat panel machine in existence.
Our canvas awnings are the best available and they cost a little more. For this you get a superior awning that has a maintenance-free powder-coated aluminum frame and can easily be recovered as styles and color popularity changes. In most cases these awnings will go 10-15 years before canvas replacement is necessary. Most awning styles have frames that are retractable allowing for more sun to get inside in the winter months (and extending the life of the awnings). Our aluminum frames have a lifetime warranty. These features result in an awning that has a lower life-cycle cost; that is while the initial cost is a bit higher the entire cost of ownership over its life is less.
